If you know me, you probably already figured that it would be just a matter of time until my man Elvis made an appearance.

I've been grumpy all weekend, and "My Dark Life" fits the mood. It's a live recording, from the excellent box set "Costello & Nieve", which has bits from five shows with Elvis Costello and keyboarder Steve Nieve.

This one's from the Fillmore in San Francisco.

I've been trading CDs on la la lately. You pay $1.75 for a CD from another la la member (a buck for the CD, and 75 cents for shipping), and you list your own CDs that you want to get rid of. And so you trade. Since it's so cheap, I've reaquainted myself with a number of never-forgotten old favorites, like "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" from Gil Scott-Heron.

Added later: Thanks for testing, Rich. Well, that's disappointing that it only plays one second. Too bad ... really, it's such a great song! I bought it about a month ago, and keep listening to it.
But at least now I know not to try to stream purchases from the store. Dang DRM ... alright, my second attempt at a Song of the Week is coming right up.

I'll start off with a track from one of my favorite albums of the year, Red Hot Chilli Peppers' "Stadium Arcadium". No, not "Dani, California", you all know that one by heart. One of my other faves from that album is Slow Cheetah. Enjoy.
