What is your favorite scent?

Basil. Lavender. Bacon. The way your hands smell after you've touched a tomato plant. Freshly baked apple pie with loads of cinnamon. The air after a thunderstorm.
What's the best way to spend a rainy day?

At home by the fireplace, snuggled up under a blanket, a mug of tea and a plate of cookies on the coffee table, and a cat draped across your lap, immersed in a good book.
If the rainy day happens to be in November, the best to spend it is to write away furiously at your NaNo novel. Either at home by the fireplace, snuggled up under a blanket, a mug of tea and a plate of cookies on the coffee table, and a cat draped across your lap, or at your local write-in, alongside a dozen other NaNos.
Which of your five senses (touch, taste, sight, hearing, or smell) do you value the most?

My eyesight. I am a voracious reader, for both print and the interwebs, and would be devastated if I lost the ability to read.
What do you like to make or order for brunch?
- chop up some bacon in small bits and fry it very crisply
- chop up anything else you want on your eggs (I add mushrooms sometimes), fry that too. in bacon grease, of course.
- break eggs into skillet, start cooking them sunny side up
- add bacon, other ingredients, and grated cheese on top of eggs
- flip them over and continue to cook them over medium (or easy, or hard, whichever you prefer)
What I order, depends on where I go. These are the items that make my mouth water:
- Eggs Blackstone at Stacks. It's my favorite variation of Eggs Benedict - their weekend special: "Bacon, tomato, sautéed mushrooms & two poached eggs on an English muffin, topped with hollandaise sauce. Served with Stacks' potatoes and fruit."
- At the Southern Kitchen in Los Gatos, either one of their excellent omelets, or the strawberry waffle when strawberries are in season.
What gameshow or reality show would you kick butt on?
On "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". Especially on the German version - on the US version, I always get tripped up by questions about 70s TV and American sports.
Do you play any musical instruments?
Not a one. My brain is all words, not sounds. I love music, but I cannot make it, only listen to it.
You've been through the desert on a horse with no name. Except your horse does have a name. What is it?
